trying to knit socks

I have been knitting for over 2 years & i have never knitted socks! about a week ago i started my quest to find a pattern that i wanted to make, that would use any yarn that i have on hand. i found a pattern on ravelry called "rainy day socks" & i am going to use a taupe colored yarn to make them. i hope they turn out nicely :o) i don't have any actual "sock yarn" so i hope it works! i found that there is a real yarn shop near my area so i'm gonna hit them up this weekend to score some real sock yarn & most likely i will end up getting some other goodies too! so.. i'm off to my sock making adventure! wish me luck!
